BEVERLY, Mass. - Endicott Student Affairs have released a new app called Gull Central, the hub for events and happenings on campus, to make involvement and engagement easier for Endicott students.
The new app has many features that allow for easier and more organized involvement on campus. There is an events calendar that has all events and club meetings registered to happen on campus, making it easy for students to find exactly what events they are interested in attending.
Every club president underwent training for the app. Gull Central allows for clubs to take attendance to track the engagement and numbers in each individual club. It also allows students to easily learn about new clubs. As long as clubs post their meetings on the app, any student in the school can see when and where the meeting takes place.
Outside of clubs, Gull Central seeks to help centralize events on campus further. Any event on the app that has an external ticket or registration, like Eventbrite, is hyperlinked to take you right to it. Events without this can be registered for right on Gull Central.
The Blue Buzz, where students find out lots of information surrounding events, will not be replaced. This is still a valuable tool for Student Affairs. However, Gull Central has the capability to send a report much like the Blue Buzz straight from the app. This feature may be explored at a later date.
The athletics department has met multiple times surrounding Gull Central around whether or not to add athletics related events to the app.
Multiple events have already been launched surrounding the release of Gull Central. An information table has been set up outside of the Callahan Dining Hall multiple days. On Tuesday, February 17, they gave out free Aroma Joes Rushes to students who had the app downloaded.
Gull Central is an exciting new way for students to engage on campus, hoping to increase involvement and expose students to events and happenings they may not have known existed. This is a fresh change for Endicott, and it looks to become a staple of campus activities moving forward.
