BEVELRY, Mass. - Endicott field hockey advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a convincing 9-0 win over Keene State College at North Field.
It was a dominant performance from start to finish for the Gulls. It took 13 minutes to get on the board, when Reagan Hicks scored the opening goal off of a feed from Tori Swanson. Endicott led 1-0 heading into the second quarter.
The Gulls blew it open in the second, scoring three goals in a two minute stretch. Swanson scored a goal of her own five minutes into the quarter. Swanson then earned a penalty corner, where she assisted Riley Perkins to put Endicott in the lead 3-0. Perkins assisted Hicks for the third goal of the quarter, extending the lead to 4-0 entering halftime.
Endicott stayed hot, scoring two goals in the third quarter from Sabrina Brunet and Maddy Dengler. In the final frame, Hicks, Brunet, and Natalia Correia piled on three more to complete a resounding 9-0 victory for the Gulls.
Hicks led the way offensively with her hat trick and one assist. No other Gull has ever recorded a hat trick in an NCAA tournament game. Six of the nine Endicott goals were assisted, and six different Gulls scored on the evening.
Faith Minickene made three saves on the evening, and Alexis DeMattia added one in the Gulls shutout victory. This marked Endicott’s 13th shutout of the season.
The Gulls have a program record 21 wins on the season, with all 21 being won in a row. This win also marked their first NCAA Tournament victory since 2021.
No. 8 Endicott travels to Baltimore, Maryland to face No. 9 Middlebury College, who have won the last seven NCAA Championships. This is a rematch from earlier in the season, when Endicott took down Middlebury 2-1 in overtime.
