BEVERLY, Mass. - No. 13 Endicott women’s ice hockey captured their second straight CNE Championship Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 overtime victory over Western New England.
Endicott was on the brink of a breakthrough the entire game, recording 56 shots on goal in the contest, a mammoth number. Despite this, the game entered overtime at a 0-0 stalemate.
Maddie DiNardo was the overtime hero for the Gulls. She went coast-to-coast through the Western New England defense and slotted a shot through the goalie’s legs. Her goal, over 6 minutes into the overtime period, secured the 1-0 victory for Endicott.
Lauren Ferrari was named the CNE Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The goalie recorded a shutout in the semifinals and in the finals, stopping all 18 shots that came her way on Saturday.
The win gives Endicott back-to-back CNE Championships, and it marks their fifth since 2018.
Endicott’s season continues against Hamline in the NCAA Tournament. They will play Saturday, March 14 at 4:00 PM on the road in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The loss marks the end of Western New England’s 2025-26 campaign.
